1. FOOD BANK DISTRIBUTIONS TO AREA RESIDENTS IS THE PRIMARY FOCUS OF THE THURMONT MINISTERIUM. CURRENT YEAR DISTRIBUTIONS INCLUDED LITERALLY TONS OF DONATED FOOD/ITEMS VALUED AT $107,500. THESE DONATIONS WERE FROM INDIVIDUALS, CHURCHES, GROCERY STORES SCOUTS AND NUMEROUS OTHER ORGANIZATIONS. IN ADDITION, DISTRIBUTIONS WERE MADE OF DIRECTLY PURCHASED GROCERIES VALUED AT OVER $68,500 FROM MONETARY OR GIFT CARD DONATIONS. PRIOR YEARS' FOOD BANK DISTRIBUTIONS TO AREA RESIDENTS INCLUDED ESTIMATED DONATED VALUES OF $81,379, $118,368, AND $108,104, AS WELL AS DONATIONS PURCHASED FROM MONETARY DONATIONS.2. MEDICAL EMERGENCY OR CATASTROPHIC MEDICAL EXPENSES FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS, INCLUDING PHARMACY, DOCTOR, DENTIST, AND HOSPITAL BILLS. ASSISTANCE FOR MEDICAL RELATED TRANSPORTATION IS ALSO INCLUDED FOR TOTAL EXPENSES OF $7,712.3.
