THE CARRIE SIMON HOUSE IS A NON-DENOMINATIONAL TRANSITIONAL HOME FOR YOUNG HOMELESS MOTHERS AND THEIR BABIES. THE GOALS OF THE CARRIE SIMON HOUSE PROGRAMS ARE TO PROVIDE HOUSING, TO TEACH PARENTING SKILLS, AND TO ENABLE THE RESIDENTS TO BECOME INDEPENDENT, SELF-SUFFICIENT MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING THEM WITH EDUCATION, COUNSELING, AND JOB TRAINING.

Part 3 - Line 4a

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR HOMELESS WOMEN AND CHILDREN AGES 18-24. PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS RECEIVED HOUSING, CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES, AND MENTORING OR EDUCATION IN FINANCIAL PLANNING. PERSONAL BUDGETING, CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT, AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WHILE RESIDING AT CARRIE SIMON HOUSE. RESIDENTS MUST ATTEND SCHOOL, PARTICIPATE IN JOB TRAINING OR HOLD A JOB, PERFORM ASSIGNED HOUSEHOLD CHORES, COMPLY WITH A CURFEW AND OTHER RULES, AND MEET REGULARLY WITH A CASE MANAGER. CARRIE SIMON HOUSE HAS SERVED MORE THAN 100 WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN SINCE IT BEGAN IN 1988.
