Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
INDEPENDENT LIVING SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES; SERVING SIX COUNTIES AND TWO CITIES IN S.W. VIRGINIA. COUNTIES SERVED ARE BLAND, CARROLL, GRAYSON, WYTHE, SMYTH, WASHINGTON, AND THE CITIES OF BRISTOL AND GALAX VIRGINIA. PROGRAMS PROMOTE INDEPENDENT LIVING FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES, FAMILIES AND THE COMMUNITY. APPROXIMATELY 117 INDIVIDUALS WERE SERVED DURING THE YEAR.
RENT RECEIVED FROM DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING SERVICES CENTER AND DISTRICT THREE GOVERNMENT COOP FOR OFFICE SPACE LEASED FROM AIC. THE OFFICE SPACE IS LOCATED IN AIC'S MAIN OFFICE IN ABINGDON VIRGINIA. RENTING SPACE TO THESE NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS HELPS TO FURTHER AIC'S EXEMPT MISSION BY PROVIDING SERVICES AND ASSISTANCE TO PERSONS WITH DISABILTIES.
