AGRICULTURAL PROGRAMS - FARMERS ARE PROVIDED WITH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING AND ADVICE ON MARKETING THEIR CROPS. THEY ARE GIVEN ASSISTANCE WITH NUTRIENT MANAGEMENT PLANS. FARMERS AND OTHER INDIVIDUALS ARE OFFERED TRAININGS IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN PRIVATE PESTICIDE APPLICATOR LICENSES AND NUTRIENT MANAGEMENT VOUCHER CERTIFICATES. FARMERS AND OTHER INDIVIDUALS RECEIVE EDUCATION AND SERVICES IN THESE ADDITIONAL AREAS: SOIL CONSERVATION, NOXIOUS WEED CONTROL, GROWING AND HARVESTING CROPS, CROP INSECT CONTROL, RAISING LIVESTOCK AND POULTRY, BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES, RISK MANAGEMENT, AND SUSTAINABLE AND ECO-FRIENDLY AGRICULTURE PRACTICES.4-H & YOUTH DEVELOPMENT - EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES IN 4-H ARE VARIED IN SUBJECT MATTER AND DELIVERY METHODS. CHILDREN AND YOUTH LEARN THROUGH WORKSHOPS, SCHOOL-BASED PROGRAMMING, COMMUNITY 4-H CLUBS, TRAININGS SERVICE LEARNING PROGRAMS AND ONE-TO-ONE INSTRUCTIONS. CECIL COUNTY 4-H PROVIDES LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES IN ANIMAL SCIENCE, PLANT SCIENCE, ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, AGRICULTURE LITERACY, LEADERSHIP AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, HEALTHY LIVESTYLES, WRITTEN AND SPOKEN COMMUNICATION, CITIZENSHIP AND COMMUNITY SERVICE.HORTICULTURE/MASTER GARDENERS CECIL COUNTY HOMEOWNERS ARE PROVIDED WITH SERVICES THAT INCLUDE EDUCATION IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: PRODUCTIVE GARDENING, BAY-WISE GARDENING, ECO-FRIENDLY GARDENING AND LAWN MAINTENANCE, WEED CONTROL, CONTROL OF WILD-LIFE, INSECT IDENTIFICATION AND CONTROL RECOMMENDATIONS, CONSERVATION AND PLANT DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES.
