GENERAL MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITIES: THE FEDERAL CITY COUNCIL WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1954 TO FOCUS THE CREATIVITY, TALENT AND RESOURCES OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA'S TOP BUSINESS, EDUCATION AND PHILANTHROPIC LEADERS ON MAJOR CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES FACING THE CITY. THE COUNCIL IS A NONPARTISAN ORGANIZATION WHOSE MEMBERS WORK WITH THE DISTRICT AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS TO DEVISE AND IMPLEMENT SOLUTIONS TO IMPORTANT COMMUNITY PROBLEMS.
