NATIONAL INNOVATION COMMISSION - THE COMMISSION ACTIVELY ENGAGES PEER PRIVATE-SECTOR LEADERS TO CONFRONT AND OVERCOME THE CRITICAL CHALLENGES FACING THE U.S. INNOVATION AGENDA AND TO CREATE MOMENTUM IN THE UNITED STATES TO OUTPACE THE REST OF THE WORLD IN INNOVATION CAPACITY, CAPABILITY AND COMPETITIVENESS.


COUNCIL OF COUNCILS - THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR THE GLOBAL FEDERATION OF COMPETITIVENESS COUNCILS, A SECTION 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION WITH A MISSION TO MEET THE CHALLENGES IN THE GLOBAL ECONOMIC LANDSCAPE, TO IDENTIFY AND SUPPORT POLICIES AND PROGRAMS TO STIMULATE ECONOMIC GROWTH, AND FOSTER INNOVATION AND STRENGHTEN NATIONAL COMPETITIVENESS;


TECHNOLOGY LEADERSHIP AND STRATEGY INITIATIVE - THE TECHNOLOGY LEADERSHIP AND STRATEGY INITIATIVE BRINGS TOGETHER CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICERS FROM BUSINESS AND ACADEMIA TO IDENTIFY PRACTICES IN RISK MANAGEMENT AND OPERATIONAL SYSTEMS, BUSINESS PROCESSES, TECHNOLOGY TOOLS, TRAINING PROGRAMS, AND PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS THAT ENHANCE BOTH INDUSTRIAL COMPETITIVENESS AND NATIONAL SECURITY.


OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDE: NATIONAL COMPETITIVENESS FORUM - A PLATFORM FOR COUNCIL MEMBERS AND OTHER THOUGHT LEADERS FROM INDUSTRY, GOVERNMENT, LABOR, ACADEMIA AND THE NATIONAL LABORATORIES TO ENGAGE IN CONVERSATION, ELABORATE ON IDEAS, AND ANALYZE AMERICA'S COMPETITIVENESS CAPACITY IN ORDER TO ADDRESS THE PRESSING AND EMERGING PRIORITIES OF AMERICA'S ECONOMY; GLOBALIZATION INITIATIVE - CATALYZES LEADERSIP DIALOGUES AMONG U.S. BUSINESSES, UNIVERSITIES, LABOR UNIONS AND THEIR COUNTERPARTS ON A RANGE OF ISSUES THAT IMPACT TRADE, PRODUCTIVITY AND COMPETITIVENESS; ADVANCED COMPUTING-THE SCOPE OF THE GRANT IS TO CONDUCT RESEARCH INTO ISSUES OF THE POTENTIAL VALUE OF HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING (HPC) TO IMPROVE U.S. INDUSTRY'S COMPETITIVENESS.
