ASOC IS A GLOBAL COALITION OF NGOS AND INDIVIDUALS WORKING TOGETHER TO ENSURE THE CONSERVATION AND PROTECTION OF ANTARCTICA AND THE SOUTHERN OCEAN, AS THE WORLD'S LAST WILDERNESS, A GLOBAL COMMONS, AND A SHARED HERITAGE FOR THE FUTURE. IT IS THE ONLY GLOBAL ORGANIZATION FOCUSED SOLEY ON THIS REGION AND THE ONLY ENVIRONMENTAL NGO RECOGNIZED BY THE ANTARCTIC GOVERNANCE SYSTEM. ASOC WORKS WITH PARTNERS TO ADDRESS THREATS TO ANTARCTICA FROM OVERFISHING TO WILDLIFE AND WILDERNESS CONSERVATION TO THE GREATEST THREAT, CLIMATE CHANGE.
