CARDIOVASCULAR RESEARCH GRANTS WERE PROVIDED TO THE MAYO CLINIC JACKSONVILLE, MAYO CLINIC ROCHESTER, FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY, FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY, AND MT. SINAI MEDICAL CENTER.
SUPPORT FOR JOE DIMAGGIO CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
FLORIDA HEART RESEARCH FOUNDATION FUNDED A "KIDS TAG ART" PROGRAM WHICH IS OVERSEEN BY THE TAX COLLECTOR'S OFFICES IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA AND GEARED TOWARD 5TH GRADERS. A SPECIAL CATEGORY WAS CREATED FOR FLORIDA HEART RESEARCH FOUNDATION "HEART SMART HEART" TO FULFILL ONE OF OUR MISSION POINTS ABOUT EDUCATION AND PREVENTION.
RESEARCHER OF THE YEAR AWARD - A PRESTIGIOUS AWARD IS GRANTED TO THE INDIVIDUAL WITHIN THE STATE OF FLORIDA WHOSE RESEARCH IS FELT TO HAVE HAD THE BROADEST IMPACT ON THE ADVANCEMENT OF KNOWLEDGE IN THE DIAGNOSIS AND/OR TREATMENT OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE. TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE AWARD, THE RESEARCHER MUST BE NOMINATED BY A COLLEAGUE, CONDUCT RESEARCH WITHIN AND BE A RESIDENT OF FLORIDA, BE ACTIVE IN THE ARENA OF CLINICAL AND/OR BASIC SCIENCE, AND HAVE REPORTED THE RESULTS OF HIS OR HER WORK IN THE PEER REVIEW ARENA OF SCIENTIFIC MEETINGS AND/OR PUBLICATIONS.
