NATURE EDUCATION AND CONSERVATION THROUGH MEETINGS, PROGRAMS, FIELD TRIPS, NEWSLETTERS AND OPERATION OF A NATURE CENTER. OUR NATURALIST CONDUCTS PROGRAMS FOR SCHOOLS, CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS, YOUTH GROUPS, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. ALL ACTIVITIES ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

THE WICHITA AUDUBON SOCIETY, INC IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING NATURE EDUCATION, PROMOTING ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION AND ENCOURAGING APPRECIATION FOR THE NATURAL WORLD. WE HAVE A 230 ACRE PRESERVE (CHAPLIN NATURE CENTER), NEAR ARKANSAS CITY, KS, WHICH IS STAFFED BY A FULL-TIME NATURALIST. THE TRAILS THROUGH THE WOODS AND PRAIRIES LEADING TO THE SANDBARS ON THE ARKANSAS RIVER ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FROM SUNRISE TO SUNSET YEAR ROUND. OUR VOLUNTEERS PARTICIPATE IN PARK CLEAN UP PROJECTS, CHRISTMAS BIRD COUNTS, ENVIRONMENTAL ADVOCACY, EARTH DAY PROJECTS AND A VARIETY OF OTHER ACTIVITIES IN SUPPORT OF OUR CHAPTER AND ITS MISSION. VIRTUALLY, ALL INCOME AND EXPENSES ARE RELATED TO THIS ACHIEVEMENT.
