THE PEGGIE AND PAUL SHEVLIN FAMILY FOUNDATION MISSION IS TO PROMOTE HOPE BY MEETING THE PRACTICAL NEEDS OF THOSE IN RECOVERY. THE FOUNDATION SEEKS TO MEET THEIR MISSION PRIMARILY THROUGH THEIR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES BASIC HUMAN NEEDS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: HOUSING (SHORT TERM RECOVERY HOUSE SCHOLARSHIPS), FOOD, CLOTHING, TRANSPORTATION, LEGAL ADVOCACY, SOBER SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT, ETC. TO PERSONS WHO DON'T HAVE THE RESOURCES TO MEET THESE NEEDS. IN ADDITION, THE FOUNDATION OFFERS A SOBER LIVING PROGRAM FOR MEN IN LONG-TERM RECOVERY AND HELPS PERSONS ACCESS AND NAVIGATE TREATMENT OPTIONS. OVER THE LAST 6 YEARS, THE PEGGIE AND PAUL SHEVLIN FAMILY FOUNDATION HAS ASSISTED OVER 2,500 PERSONS IN THE DELAWARE VALLEY. BY OFFERING OVER 1,100 SCHOLARSHIPS/GRANTS TO THOSE IN EARLY RECOVERY, WE HELP OUR RECIPIENTS THRIVE, REMOVING OBSTACLES TO THEIR LONG-TERM, SOBER, SUCCESS. IN ADDITION, TO OUR SCHOLARSHIP/GRANT PROGRAM WE HAVE PROVIDED CASE MANAGEMENT AND CARE COORDINATION FOR OVER 60 DELAWARE COUNTY RESIDENTS THROUGH OUR JOURNEY PROGRAM.
THE FOUNDATION OFFERS A SOBER LIVING PROGRAM FOR MEN IN LONG-TERM RECOVERY. MEN WHO HAVE AT LEAST 2 YEARS OF CONSISTENT RECOVERY MAY APPLY FOR A SPOT IN OUR PROGRAM, IF AND WHEN ONE BECOMES AVAILABLE. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES A FULLY FURNISHED BEDROOM IN OUR LOCATION IN CHESTER, PA, ACCESS TO 24/7 RECOVERY SUPPORT, AND FULL RUN OF THE PROPERTY (EXCEPT FOR CORPORATE OFFICES) INCLUDING: FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN, LAUNDRY, STORAGE, GRILL AND BACKYARD ETC. LIVING INDEPENDENTLY WITH OTHER SOBER MEN PROVIDES COMMUNITY ACCOUNTABILITY AS OUR RESIDENTS BUILD THEIR RECOVERY. MEN MUST APPLY AND BE INTERVIEWED FOR THE PROGRAM.
