Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
SPONSORSHIPS SPONSORSHIP STILL REMAINS ONE OF OUR MOST IMPORTANT PROGRAMS IN KENYA. WE CURRENTLY ARE SPONSORING 350 CHILDREN TO DIFFERENT ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND HIGH SCHOOLS. WE PARTNER WITH OVER 60 HIGH SCHOOLS WITH OVER 80 CHILDREN IN HIGH SCHOOL AND 3 TO 4 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. WE ARE STILL FOCUSED ON SPONSORING CHILDREN COMING FROM THE MOST NEEDY HOMES AND BACKGROUNDS. MOST OF THE CHILDREN ARE COMING FROM HOMES WHERE THEY ARE ORPHANED, WIDOWED HOMES, OR THE PARENTS ARE NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE FOR THEIR CHILDREN. THE SCHOOL THAT WE PARTNER WITH IN KENYA HAS SCORED THE BEST IN THEIR REGION. ALL OF OUR CHILDREN THAT DID NATIONAL EXAMS WILL GO ON TO HIGH SCHOOL. WE HAVE HAD OVER 16 CHILDREN GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL FROM OUR PROGRAM AND HAVE RECEIVED GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE / WELL WISHERS ASSISTANCE TO ATTEND COLLEGE IN KENYA.
FAMILY STRENGTHING OUR FAMILY STRENGTHENING PROGRAM IS OUR FASTEST GROWING PROGRAM. WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO HIRE A FULL TIME CEO IN KENYA, 7 SOCIAL WORKERS, FULL-TIME PASTOR, AND FULL-TIME FARM MANAGER. THE FAMILY STRENGTHENING PROGRAM WORKS WITH FAMILIES THAT COME FROM THE POOREST BACKGROUNDS. THE PROGRAM ASSIGNS A SOCIAL WORKER TO EACH FAMILY WHICH IS NOW OVER 400 FAMILIES. IN THE PROGRAM WE WORK WITH EACH FAMILY TO DEVELOP A CARE PLAN BASED ON THE NEEDS IN THE HOME THROUGH OUR INITIAL HOME VISIT ASSESSMENT. FROM THE CARE PLAN WE CAN PROVIDE SPIRITUAL CARE, ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT, AND GUIDANCE/COUNSELING. WE ALSO HELP CHILDREN THAT ARE LIVING ON THE STREET GET TRACED BACK HOME AND WORK WITH THE REINTEGRATION OF THESE CHILDREN BACK HOME. WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO REINTEGRATE OVER 25 CHILDREN BACK HOME FROM THE STREET.
BUILDING PROJECTS / LAND PURCHASES WE HAVE BEEN FINISHING THE GUEST HOUSE, WORKING ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF OUR FARM, IN THE PROCESS OF STARTING NEW CLASSROOMS AND WE PURCHASED 10 ACRES FOR A FUTURE SCHOOL TO BE BUILT. EACH OF THESE ITEMS IN OUR BUILDING PROJECTS WILL DIRECTLY IMPACT THE FAMILIES WE ARE WORKING WITH AND THE CHILDREN IN OUR SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM. EACH PROJECT THAT IS BEING DEVELOPED IS A PLACE THAT GIVES JOBS TO THE COMMUNITY AND BRINGS IN ECONOMIC GROWTH FOR THE SUSTAINABILITY OF THE MINISTRY IN KENYA.
