OPERATION OF A CHILD CARE CENTER WHICH CATERS TO ASSISTING FOSTER FAMILIES WITH EMERGENCY PLACEMENT AND ALL CHILDREN WITH DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE CURRICULUM AND ACTIVITIES.

THE SANDBOX IS A CHILD CARE CENTER THAT WAS STARTED DUE TO A LACK OF QUALITY CHILD CARE IN THE AREA. IN ADDITION, THERE IS A LACK OF EMERGENCY CHILD CARE FOR WORKING FOSTER FAMILIES. THE SANDBOX OFFERS 3 CHILD CARE ROOMS, EACH CATERING TO A DIFFERENT DEVELOPMENTAL AGE AND STATE OF CHILDREN UP TO 5 YEARS OF AGE. IT OFFERS DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE CURRICULUM AS WELL AS ACTIVITIES FOR EACH ROOM AND PROVIDES TWO DAILY MEALS AND SNACKS, AS WELL AS DIAPERS AND WIPES TO FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN AND/OR FOSTER CHILDREN IN DIAPERS.


MISCELLANEOUS OTHER PROGRAMS - PROVIDED DIAPERS AND RELATED SUPPLIES TO CHILDREN IN NEED, ASSISTED WITH THE ARC FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER AND HEATHY KIDS MENDOCINO FUND.


IMAGINATION LIBRARY - THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO GET BOOKS IN THE HANDS OF CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES. CHILDREN ARE ENROLLED IN THE PROGRAM AND RECEIVE A FREE BOOK IN THE MAIL EVERY MONTH UNTIL THEIR 5TH BIRTHDAY. THIS PROGRAM IS SPONSORED IN PARTNERSHIP FROM FIRST 5 MENDOCINO.
