CAREER DEVELOPMENT SERIES: WLIS CAREER DEVELOPMENT SERIES IS AN EIGHT MONTH PROGRAM THAT WILL HELP YOU DEVELOP RELEVANT SKILLS AND CAREER STRATEGIES TO IMPROVE YOUR FUTURE POSSIBILITIES. YOU WILL MAXIMIZE YOUR CAREER CHOICES, INCREASE YOUR NETWORK OF COLLEAGUES AND MENTORS, AS WELL AS LEARN FROM EXPERTS THROUGH OUR SPECIFIC CAREER DEVELOPMENT CURRICULUM.
THE WOMENS LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE OFFERS A ONE-OF-A-KIND, NONPARTISAN POLITICAL CANDIDATE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR WOMEN IN UTAH.OUR POLITICAL DEVELOPMENT SERIES IS AN INTERACTIVE AND INSTRUCTIVE TRAINING THAT WILL TEACH YOU THE HOW AND WHY OF RUNNING FOR PUBLIC OFFICE. YOU WILL JOIN A COHORT OF WOMEN AND, OVER THE COURSE OF SIX MONTHS, HEAR FROM A VARIETY OF EXPERTS AND PARTICIPATE IN VARIOUS WORKSHOPSALL DESIGNED TO PREPARE YOU TO RUN FOR A LOCAL OR STATE-WIDE OFFICE.
ELEVATEHER CHALLENGE - CHOOSING TO ACCEPT THE ELEVATEHER CHALLENGE MEANS AN ORGANIZATION PLEDGES TO ELEVATE THE STATURE OF WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP. EACH ORGANIZATION MAY ADAPT ITS OWN POLICIES WITHIN ITS UNIQUE STRUCTURE TO MEET THE COMMITMENTS. 1) INCREASE THE PERCENTAGE OF WOMEN IN SENIOR LEADERSHIP POSITIONS. 2) INCREASE THE RETENETIONRATE OF WOMEN AT ALL LEVELS OF YOUR ORGANIZATION. 3) INCREASE THE NUMBER OF WOMEN ON YOUR ORGANIZATIONS'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND ENCOURAGE WOMEN TO SERVE ON COMMUNITY AND CORPORATE BOARDS. 4) MONITOR PAY BY GENDER AND CLOSE IDENTIFIED GAPS. 5) ESTABLISH OR ENHANSE A LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, MENTORING AND/OR SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMS FOR WOMEN. 6) URGE WOMEN TO RUN FOR PUBLIC OFFICE AND GIVE FOLLOW-UP SUPPORT.
