THE MISSION OF DISABILITY SERVICES INC., DBA ENVIDA, IS TO PROMOTE ACCESS AND SUPPORT INDEPENDENT LIVING WITH DIGNITY FOR OLDER ADULTS, THOSE WITH DISABILITIES, AND LOW INCOME INDIVIDUALS. WE ACCOMPLISH OUR MISSION THROUGHTRANSPORTATION IN EL PASO COUNTY AND THROUGH HOME CARE IN EL PASO, TELLER, PARK, PUEBLO, FREMONT, OTERO, AND CROWLEYCOUNTIES.

ENVIDA'S TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM SEEKS TO EXPAND ACCESS, REMOVE TRANSPORTATION BARRIERS, AND FACILITATE COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION. IN 2021, ENVIDA PROVIDED APPROXIMATELY 23,000 RIDES THROUGHOUT EL PASO COUNTY TO MORE THAN 800 INDIVIDUALS. OUR MOST COMMON TRIP PURPOSES WERE FOR ADULT DAY PROGRAMS (28%), MEDICAL (23%), WORK (16%), DIALYSIS (14%), BEHAVIORAL HEALTH (8%), AND ALL OTHER (11%).ENVIDA'S CORE TRANSPORTATION SERVICES CONTINUE TO CENTER ON SPECIALIZED TRANSPORTATION WITHIN COLORADO SPRINGS. FIXED ROUTE SERVICES ARE ALSO PROVIDED FOR CALHAN, YODER, RUSH AND ELLICOT TO COLORADO SPRINGS VIA HIGHWAY'S 24 AND THE 94 CORRIDOR.GROWTH ALSO OCCURRED IN TELLER COUNTY. RIDES FOR NON EMERGENT MEDICAL PURPOSES, INCLUDING MENTAL HEALTH, ARE NOW OFFERED.ENVIDA SAW CONTINUING CHALLENGES IN 2021, DUE MAINLY TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. ALTHOUGH TRANSPORTATION RIDES INCREASED 14% COMPARED TO 2020, OPERATING EXPENSES INCREASED DUE TO INFLATION AND SUPPLY CHAIN ISSUES, MAINLY GAS AND VEHICLES.
ENVIDA'S HOMECARE SERVICES OFFER CONSUMER DIRECTED SUPPORT WITH ACTIVITIES FOR DAILY LIVING UNDER MEDICAID'S HOME AND COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES (HCBS) AND IN HOME SUPPORT SERVICES (IHSS). ENVIDA ALSO PROVIDES PRIVATE PAY HOMECARE SERVICES AS WELL AS SERVICES UNDER THE AREA AGENCY ON AGING FOR LOW-INCOME OLDER ADULTS WHO DO NOT QUALIFY FOR MEDICAID. APPROXIMATELY 80 PERCENT OF OUR CARE PROVIDERS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS, HELPING THEIR LOVED ONES AGE IN PLACE AND REMAIN IN THEIR HOMES WHERE THEY WANT TO BE. PROVIDED PRIMARILY IN EL PASO AND TELLER COUNTIES, ENVIDA'S HOMECARE SERVICES HAVE EXPANDED INTO THE SURROUNDING COUNTIES OF PUEBLO, FREMONT, PARK, OTERO, AND CROWLEY WHILE BEING INTEGRATED WITH ENVIDA'S TRANSPORTATION UNDER MEDICAID'S NONEMERGENT TRANSPORTATION (NEMT)."
