EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS: FLOURISH FOUNDATION OFFERS SCHOOL-BASED PROGRAMS THAT INTRODUCE DIFFERENT FORMS OF MINDFUL AWARENESS TRAINING TO STUDENTS AND TEACHERS, IN THE CLASSROOM SETTING, IN ORDER TO BROADEN THE SCOPE OF EDUCATION TO INCLUDE SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL SKILLS, ATTENTIONAL TRAINING, AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF VIRTUES THAT SUPPORT PERSONAL, SOCIAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND WELL BEING.
PUBLIC OUTREACH: ALONG WITH DIRECT PROGRAMMING, FLOURISH PROVIDES THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WITH EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH LECTURES AND WORKSHOPS. MINDFULNESS-BASED CHILDBIRTH & PARENTING: THIS WORKSHOP SUPPORTS EXPECTANT COUPLES IN HOW TO ENGAGE THE MIND TO DEAL WITH THE PAIN OR FEAR ASSOCIATED WITH CHILDBIRTH AS A WAY TO ACCESS DEEP PHYSICAL AND MENTAL RELAXATION.
COMPASSIONATE LEADERS PROGRAM CLP: HAVING EFFECTIVE YOUNG LEADERS IS AN ESSENTIAL COMPONENT FOR MAINTAINING A VIBRANT WORLD COMMUNITY. THESE YOUNG LEADERS ARE THE NEXT GENERATION OF POLICY MAKERS, ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDS, INNOVATORS, AND PARENTS. THE CLP PROGRAM PREPARES HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO RESEARCH, PLAN, AND IMPLEMENT COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS WITHIN LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND ABROAD, AND BUILDS A NETWORK OF LEADERS COMMITTED TO UPLIFTING THEMSELVES AND THE WORLD AROUND THEM. IN 2020, 50 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS RECEIVED WEEKLY CONTEMPLATIVE EDUCATION AND GUIDANCE IN FUNDRAISING AND LOCAL COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS. DURING THE SUMMER, THEY TRAVELED TO CHIAPAS, MEXICO AND LADAKH, INDIA TO SUPPORT LOCAL SERVICE PROJECTS WITHIN THOSE COMMUNITIES.
