TO EMPOWER IMPOVERISHED SINGLE MOTHERS AND THEIR CHILDREN TOWARD DEVELOPING HEALTHY, SAFE AND INDEPENDENT LIVES IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.

Part 3 - Line 4a

CHILDREN'S PROGRAM - CHILDREN IN THE PROGRAM PARTICIPATE IN AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING AND 'PEACH' (PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL AWARENESS FOR CHILDREN WHO ARE HOMELESS) ALONG WITH EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES. ALL PARTICIPATING CHILDREN ARE MAINTAINING STABLE EDUCATION BY ATTENDING SCHOOL AND WORKING DILIGENTLY ON EARNING ABOVE-AVERAGE GRADES.


SHELTER, SAFETY AND PHYSICAL NEEDS OF PARTICIPATING FAMILIES - THE SHELTER PROVIDES FAMILIES WITH FOOD, TOILETRIES, HOUSEHOLD SUPPLIES, AND A SAFE LIVING ENVIRONMENT UPON ENTRANCE. CURRENTLY THERE ARE 5 FAMILIES HOUSED IN THE SHELTER AT ONE TIME. THERE IS A GRADUATE PROGRAM THAT SUPPORTS 3 FAMILIES FOR AN ADDITIONAL YEAR AFTER COMPLETION OF THE PROGRAM.


MOTHER'S PROGRAM - MOTHERS PARTICIPATE IN ON-SITE EMPLOYMENT PREPARATION TO ACQUIRE FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. PARTICIPANTS ENGAGE IN INTENSIVE FINANCIAL LITERACY EDUCATION, BUDGET TRAINING, ONGOING CASE MANAGEMENT, PEER AND/OR PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING, PARENTING CLASSES AND ADVANCED COMPUTER TRAINING.
