THE ORGANIZATION IS INVOLVED IN PROTECTING AND RECOVERING NATIVE LANDSCAPES AND HAWAIIAN CANOE PLANT BIODIVERSITY EXISTING IN THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS. THE OBJECTIVES INCLUDE INCREASING THE NUMBER OF AVAILABLE VARIETIES OF TRADITIONAL HAWAIIAN KALO CURRENTLY EXISTING IN HAWAII, BY EDUCATING GROWERS AND OTHERS ON BETTER IDENTIFICATION AND MANAGEMENT, BY INCREASING THE AVAILABILITY OF PLANTING STOCK TO GROWERS THROUGH OUTREACH EFFORTS AND PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS, AND TRAINING THE NEXT GENERATION OF TRADITIONAL HAWAIIAN KALO SPECIALISTS.
