FISCAL SPONSORSHIPS:IN 2022, WE PROVIDED $2.9 MILLION IN FUNDING AND OTHER FILMMAKER SERVICES TO FILM AND MEDIA PROJECTS THROUGH FISCAL SPONSORSHIP. WE SEE THIS SUPPORT AS INEXTRICABLY LINKED TO OUR COMMITMENT TO INVEST INSTORYTELLERS AND AMPLIFY THE NUMBER OF, AND AUDIENCE FOR, ENVIRONMENTAL STORIES.


THE REDFORD CENTER'S OTHER PROGRAM WORK IN 2022 INCLUDED EXPANDING OUR "FRIDAY NIGHT FILMS" PROGRAM TO SCREEN 30 ENVIRONMENTALLY FOCUSED FILMS; HELPING TO MAINSTREAM CLIMATE-NARRATIVES BY SUPPORTING PROJECTS SUCH AS THE GOOD ENERGY PLAYBOOK, THE 2022 HOLLYWOOD CLIMATE SUMMIT, AND IMAGINE 2200: CLIMATE FICTION FOR FUTURE ANCESTORS; AND EXPLORING NEW METHODS OF ENGAGING WITH EDUCATORS, STUDENTS, AND ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH OUR YOUTH STORIES PROGRAM.


REDFORD CENTER GRANTS:REDFORD CENTER GRANTS PROVIDES DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION FUNDS, STORY AND NETWORKING SUPPORT TO FILMMAKERS WORKING ON ENVIRONMENTALLY-FOCUSED FILM PROJECTS THAT DRIVE AWARENESS, ENGAGEMENT AND ACTION ON A VARIETY OF TOPICS. FUNDED BY A NUMBER OF MAJOR DONORS, 2022 WAS THE FIRST YEAR OF THE FOURTH, TWO-YEAR CYCLE OF THE PROGRAM, WHICH LAUNCHED IN 2016. FROM AN OPEN CALL WITH 250 APPLICANTS, WE SELECTED A NEW COHORT OF 12 FILM PROJECTS POISED FOR TRANSFORMATIVE IMPACT.THIS DIVERSE PORTFOLIO OF FILMMAKERS AND PROJECTS REPRESENTS NECESSARY VOICES AND PERSPECTIVES ON ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES, ILLUMINATING STORIES FROM PEOPLE ON THE FRONTLINES AND COVERING A RANGE OF PRESSING ISSUES INCLUDING FOOD SECURITY AND SOVEREIGNTY, CLIMATE SOLUTIONS AND JUST RECOVERY, ENVIRONMENTAL TOXINS AND COMMUNITY HEALTH, RACIAL JUSTICE AND CIVIC PARTICIPATION, INDIGENOUS WISDOM AND RIGHTS, AND ENDANGERED HABITAT AND SPECIES PROTECTION, AMONG OTHER URGENT ISSUES.


COMMUNITY POWER FOR CLEAN TRANSPORTATION:IN 2022, WE RELEASED THREE MORE SHORT FILMS IN OUR "COMMUNITY POWER FOR CLEAN TRANSPORTATION" SERIES, SPOTLIGHTING UNIQUE STORIES OF COLLECTIVE ACTION. THESE FILMS HAVE PROMPTED LOCAL AND NATIONAL DIALOGUE AND SPREAD AWARENESS ABOUT COMPELLING SOLUTIONS TO TRANSPORTATION ISSUES:1. COMMUNITY POWER NEW JERSEY: OUR STREETS2.
