THE NEW YORK STATE PREFERRED SOURCE PROGRAM FOR NEW YORKERS WHO ARE BLIND (NYSPSP) IS A STATE-MANDATED INITIATIVE TO CREATE AND SUSTAIN EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR NEW YORKERS WHO ARE LEGALLY BLIND AT 11 ASSOCIATED NONPROFIT AGENCIES. STATE AND LOCAL AGENCIES ARE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE CERTAIN PRODUCTS AND SERVICES PRODUCED BY NEW YORK NONPROFITS, EMPLOYING OVER 330 PEOPLE WHO ARE BLIND OR VISUALLY IMPAIRED. THE ASSOCIATED AGENCIES PROMOTED 20 PEOPLE AND PLACED OVER 50 PEOPLE IN OUTSIDE COMPETITIVE EMPLOYMENT IN 2022. OFFERINGS INCLUDE MEDICAL, OFFICE, JANITORIAL, AND SAFETY SUPPLIES AND CALL CENTER, DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY AND DOCUMENT IMAGING SERVICES.
