BETTER BLOCK HAWAII EDUCATES, EQUIPS, AND EMPOWERS COMMUNITIES AND THEIR LEADERS TO RESHAPE AND REACTIVATE PUBLIC SPACES TO PROMOTE HEALTHY AND VIBRANT NEIGHBORHOODS.

Part 3 - Line 4a

BETTER BLOCK HAWAII PARTNERED WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, AND ARTISTS TO BRING PARKLETS AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS IN KALIHI AND A THIRD PARKLET IN KAIMUKI.


PARTNERED WITH THE TRUST FOR PUBLIC LAND TO ACTIVATE THE A'ALA PARK THROUGH PUBLIC ART DURING THE FALL OF 2021. THE PROJECT INCLUDED INSTALLING A MURAL ON THE TRIANGLE ISLAND, UTILITY BOX, AND BUS STOP NEAR THE KING AND BERETANIA STREET INTERSECTION. THE PROJECT GOALS ARE TO INCREASE PEDESTRIAN SAFETY, BEAUTIFY THE INTERSECTION, AND PROMOTE THE PARK'S HISTORY AND CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE.
