Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

THE ORGANIZATION WAS FORMED APPROXIMATELY 22 YEARS AGO TO REDUCE ANIMAL OVERPOPULATION IN RURAL MONTANA, CENTERED IN PARK COUNTY/CITY OF LIVINGSTON. PARK COUNTY IS LOCATED AT THE NORTHEAST ENTRANCE TO YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK. THE AREA IS PRIMARILY RURAL AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED, BASED PRIMARILY IN RANCHING, FARMING AND TOURISM INDUSTRIES. MANY LOW INCOME PET OWNERS ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE PROPER NEUTERING OR VACCINATION SERVICES FOR THEIR PETS, AND SINCE A LARGE MAJORITY OF PETS IN THIS AREA ARE FREE- ROAMING, MANY OF THESE COMPANION ANIMALS END UP REPRODUCING OR GETTING SICK FROM EASILY PREVENTABLE DISEASES. THE ORGANIZATION SEEKS TO ADDRESS THESE ISSUES IN THREE KEY WAYS. THE FIRST IS THROUGH THE CLINIC PROGRAM, WHERE LOW COST OR FREE NEUTERING IS PERFORMED WITH PAID VETERINARIANS AND MANY COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS AT COMMUNITY FACILITIES (SUCH AS THE FAIRGROUNDS OR CIVIC CENTER). THE SECOND IS THE SHUTTLE PROGRAM, WHEREBY VOLUNTEERS TRANSPORT THE ANIMALS TO ACTUAL VETERINARY FACILI

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

IN 2021, THE SPAY NEUTER PROJECT ALTERED AND VACCINATED 229 ANIMALS, INCLUDING 202 CATS AND 27 DOGS THROUGH CLINICS AND COST-SHARE VOUCHERS. ALMOST 50% OF CLINIC AND VOCUHER PROGRAM EXPENSES WERE COVERED BY OWNER DONATIONS. THE CLINICS ARE GENERALLY HELD AT THE PARK COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS AND WE HAVE FOUR VETERINARIANS WHO PARTICIPATE IN OUR COST- SHARE VOUCHER PROGRAM. TWO ARE IN LIVINGSTON (PARK COUNTY), ONE IN BIG TIMBER (SWEET GRASS COUNTY), AND ONE IS IN WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS (MEAGHER COUNTY). OF THE 202 CATS, THE LARGEST NUMBER WAS FROM PARK COUNTY (103), FOLLOWED BY THE CITY OF LIVINGSTON (57), SWEET GRASS COUNTY (2), MEAGHER COUNTY (22), AND OTHER, MAINLY FROM GALLATIN VALLEY AREA (20). OF THE 27 DOGS, ALL WERE ALTERED AND VACCINATED THROUGH OUR COST-SHARE VOUCHER PROGRAM. THE LARGEST NUMBER OF DOGS WERE FROM PARK COUNTY (16) FOLLOWED BY THE CITY OF LIVINGSTON (8). APPROXIMATLEY 50% OF OUR WORK IS FUNDED THROUGH DONATIONS FROM PEOPLE WHO USED OUR SERVICES. THE REST COMES FROM THE GRANTS (APPROXIMATELY 5,000) AND OUR YEARLY MONTH-LONG COMMUNITY FUNDRAISER, GIVE-A-HOOT. IN 2021 WE RAISED ALMOST 14,000 FROM GIVE-A-HOOT. SINCE RECEIVING THE IRS EXEMPTION IN 2014, WE HAVE ALTERED AND VACCINATED ALMOST 2,000 ANIMALS, PRIMARILY IN THE SERVICE AREA OF OUR LOCAL STAFFORD ANIMAL SHELTER, WHICH ALLOWS MEANINGFUL COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION.
