THE RED ROCK RANGER DISTRICT OF THE COCONINO NATIONAL FOREST IS A PRIORITY AREA UNDER THENATIONAL STEWARDSHIP ACT OF 2016. THE FEDERAL BUDGET COVERS LESS THAN 10% OF THEANNUAL COST OF MAINTAINING THE OFFICIAL TRAIL SYSTEM IN THE TRAIL FUND'S AREA. THROUGH A COLLECTION AGREEMENT WITH THE FOREST SERVICE, THE SEDONA RED ROCK TRAIL FUND IS ABLE TO FUND PART OF THE EXPENSE IN THE SEDONA AND VILLAGE OF OAK CREEK AREA. THE FUNDS PROVIDED INSEPTEMBER 2022 WILL ENABLE THE RED ROCK RANGER DISTRICT FIELD A 14 MEMBER NON-MOTORIZED TRAIL CREW INCLUDING 9 FEMALES FOR THE 2022-2023 TRAIL MAINTENANCE AND ENHANCEMENT SEASON.ADDITIONALLY, DURING THE YEAR COVERED BY THIS FORM 990, THE SEDONA RED ROCK TRAIL FUND: CONTRACTED WITH ROCK ARTISANS TO ASSIST THE FOREST SERVICE DURING FEBRUARY 2022 PERFORMING RECONSTRUCTION OF THE UPPER CATHEDRAL ROCK TRAIL;HIRED PROFESSIONAL TRAIL BUILDERS TO PERFORM A COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENT OF THE CONDITION OF THE 250 MILES OF TRAIL NEAR SEDONA AND THE VILLAGE OF OAK CREEK (THIS WORK WILL EXTEND INTO NEXT YEAR);PARTNERED WITH THE VERDE VALLEY CYCLISTS COALITION TO PROVIDE 52 NEW TRAIL SYSTEM MAPS FOR ALL RED ROCK RANGER DISTRICT TRAILHEAD KIOSKS;PROCURED YOU ARE HERE MAPS FOR TRAIL INTERSECTION;SOURCED THREE PANEL KIOSKS FOR THE CITY OF SEDONA TO USE AT TRAIL SHUTTLE TRANSIT STOPS; CONTRACTED WITH A NORTHERN ARIZONA UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF FORESTRY TO STUDY TRAIL USE AND USERS; ANDPROVIDED REFRESHMENT FOR RED ROCK RANGER DISTRICT VOLUNTEER WORKDAYS THROUGHOUT THE FIELD SEASON.

TOWARD THIS GOAL THE FUND ESTABLISHED AN ENDOUWMENT FUND DURING FY19. THE ENDOWMENT IS BEING ADMINISTERED BY THE ARIZONA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION.
