OUR MISSION HAS NOT CHANGED BUT WE IMPROVED OUR PROGRAMMING TO INCREASE IMPACT ON OUR MISSION, THROUGH INCREASED ACTION, EDUCATION AND ENGAGEMENT. IN 2021, WE WERE ABLE TO EXPAND VITAL REGIONAL INITIATIVES INCLUDING OUR WILDFIRE DEFENSE EDUCATION AND TOURS, OUR SUSTAINABILITY FUNDAMENTALS EDUCATION FOR STUDENTS, NET ZERO ACCELERATOR, AND WORKFORCE-DIRECTED GREEN BUILDING CORPS WHILE DIRECTLY ENGAGING MORE THAN 15,000 PEOPLE ACROSS OUR PROGRAMMING. NEW INITIATIVES LAUNCHED IN 2021 INCLUDE THE GREEN AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROGRAM AND THE ELECTRIFIED CONSTRUCTION COALITION.

SUMMARY OF USGBC-LA ACHIEVEMENTS THROUGH ITS PROGRAMMATIC CONTENT: - TALENT PORTAL: 796 REGIONAL JOBS POSTED 306 GRADUATES OF THE CA NATIVE LANDSCAPERS CERTIFICATE. - NET ZERO ACCELERATOR: 19 INNOVATIVE STARTUPS ENGAGED ADDRESSING NET ZERO CARBON, ENERGY, WATER, AND WASTE. - WILDFIRE DEFENSE EDUCATION AND TOURS: 450 PEOPLE LEARNED HOW TO BUILD RESILIENCE IN THEIR COMMUNITIES TO FACE THE CONTINUED CHALLENGES OF CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES, 1ST BEST PRACTICE TOOLKIT RELEASED. - GREEN SCHOOLS: OVER 1,000 KIDS WERE TAUGHT SUSTAINABILITY FUNDAMENTALS THROUGH 40 WORKSHOP SESSIONS. - GREEN BUILDING CORPS: OVER 1,854 HOURS OF SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT EXPERIENCE PROVIDED, INCLUDING PLACEMENT FOR 10 STUDENTS AND UNDEREMPLOYED PROFESSIONALS INTO FULL-TIME JOBS. -191 EVENTS HOSTED WITH 13,745 ATTENDEES.
