GEEARS: THE GEORGIA EARLY ALLIANCE FOR READY STUDENTS OPERATES TO INSPIRE AND PROVIDE LEADERSHIP FOR A STATEWIDE MOVEMENT ON QUALITY EARLY LEARNING AND HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT FOR ALL CHILDREN AGES BIRTH THROUGH FIVE. GEEARS VISION IS, BY 2021, ALL STUDENTS WILL ENTER KINDERGARTEN PREPARED TO SUCCEED AND ON A PATH TO READ TO LEARN BY THIRD GRADE.THROUGH OUR PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN FOR QUALITY RATED CHILDCARE, GEEARS STRIVES TO CREATE WIDESPREAD PUBLIC AWARENESS ABOUT TOOLS THAT PARENTS CAN USE TO IDENTIFY HIGH QUALITY CHILDCARE PROVIDERS THROUGH PAID AND EARNED TRADITIONAL MEDIA, AND SOCIAL MEDIA.PAACT: PROMISE ALL ATLANTA CHILDREN THRIVE INITIATIVE WORKS TO COALESCE STAKEHOLDERS IN ATLANTA TO WORK TOGETHER FOR BETTER OUTCOMES FOR CHILDREN BIRTH TO 5 AND THEIR FAMILIES.GEEARS LEADS THE MAYOR'S SUMMER READING CLUB WHICH PROVIDES LITERACY ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER IN METRO ATLANTA AND DISTRIBUTES 20,000 BOOKS PER SUMMER SO THAT CHILDREN HAVE BOOKS TO SUPPORT BUILDING THEIR VOCABULARY.GEEARS CONVENED AND FACILIATED THE ATLANTA EARLY EDUCATION LEADERSHIP COUNCIL, COMPRISED OF BUSINESS, CIVIC, EDUCATION AND PHILANTHROPIC LEADERS IN ATLANTA, TO CREATE A SERIES OF HIGH-IMPACT RECOMMENDATIONS TO CHANGE THE TRAJECTORY FOR INFANTS AND TODDLERS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN THE CITY OF ATLANTA.
