THE PURPOSE OF THE CORPORATION IS TO STIMULATE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE LAREDO AND SURROUNDING AREAS, WHICH WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED BY SUPPORTING BUSINESS INVESTMENT AND GROWTH THROUGH SERVICES OFFERED BY OUR CORPORATION, INCLUDING SUPPORT SERVICES, PROVIDING INFORMATION AND EXPERTISE OF THE LOCAL BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT, AND OTHER RELATED SERVICES. THE CORPORATION WILL OFFER AND PROVIDE THESE SERVICES TO BUSINESSES NOT LOCAL TO THE LAREDO AND SURROUNDING AREAS, WHICH ARE LOOKING TO INVEST IN AND RELOCATE TO OUR COMMUNITY, AND TO BUSINESSES ALREADY IN OUR COMMUNITY LOOKING AND NEEDING ASSISTANCE TO GROW. THE RELOCATION OF BUSINESS TO THE LAREDO AND SURROUNDING AREAS AND/OR THE GROWTH OF LOCAL BUSINESSES WILL HELP ACCOMPLISH THE CORPORATION'S CHARITABLE GOALS OF IMPROVING AN ECONOMICALLY DISTRESSED AREA BY PROVIDING RELIEF OF COMMUNITY DETERIORATION AND RELIEF OF THE POOR AND DISTRESSED THROUGH INCREASED EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND INCREASED PER CAPITA INCOME BY THE BUSINESS ASSISTED.
