WE EDUCATE AND INFORM OUR POTENTIAL CLIENTS LOWER-INCOME SENIOR CITIZENS AND LEGALLY DISABLED PERSONS ABOUT THE LAWS PROTECTING THEM SO THEY CAN MAKE DECISIONS BASED ON REALITY INSTEAD OF FEAR. WE PROVIDE REPRESENTATION AS DESCRIBED BY THE FAIR DEPT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT SO OUR CLIENTS DO NOT EXPERIENCE DEBT COLLECTION HARASSMENT. WITH ADEQUATE LEGAL PROTECTION AND UNDERSTANDING OF THEIR LEGAL PROTECTIONS OUR CLIENTS CAN CHOOSE TO PAY FOR THEIR BASIC NECESSITIES INSTEAD OF USING THESE FUNDS FOR UNSECURED DEBT.

AT OR AROUND 10,490 CLIENTS RECEIVED HELPS' REPRESENTATION FOR OUR FEE BASED ON HOUSEHOLD INCOME OR DISCOUNTED BELOW THE HOUSEHOLD INCOME BASED FEE SCHEDULE DUE TO FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES. PLEASE SEE SCHEDULE O FOR MORE INFORMATION.


INITIAL ENROLLMENT OF 176 PRO BONO CLIENTS IN FURTHERANCE OF HELPS GOAL TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO ALL ELIGIBLE PERSONS IN NEED OF REPRESENTATION. AT INTAKE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THESE CLIENTS HAD INCOMES BELOW THE 800 DOLLAR FEE THRESHOLD OR FINANCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES MAKING PAYMENT OF ANY FEE TOO BURDENSOME. AN ADDITIONAL ESTIMATED 2919 CLIENTS RECEIVED OUR SERVICES FOR FREE. THESE WERE EXISTING HELPS CLIENTS ENROLLED BEFORE 2023 OR CLIENTS WHO EXPERIENCED SIGNIFICANT FINANCIAL CHALLENGES MAKING ANY PAYMENT FOR OUR REPRESENTATION TOO BURDENSOME.
