THE GREENHOUSE EDUCATES VISITORS ON THE GROWING PROCESS,HOW THE ENVIRONMENT AFFECTS THE GROWING PROCESS, AND GIVES THE VISITORS A CHANCE TO SEE REAL GROWING AREAS.
THE WORTHY GARDEN CLUB HOPSERVATORY OPENED IN MAY OF 2017 WITH THE GOAL OF RAISING SCIENTIFIC LITERACY AND EDUCATING OUR VISITORS ABOUT BIG AND UNWIELDY CONCEPTS LIKE SCALE, SIZE, TIME, DISTANCE, AND SPEED IN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM AND BEYOND. WE WANT PEOPLE TO BE AMAZED AND HUMBLED BY THE BEAUTY AND DIVERSITY OF OUR GALACTIC GARDEN AS WELL AS INSPIRED TO TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN PLANET.
THE WILDERNESS AREA ON THE OREGON COAST WAS PURCHASED IN 2018 TO PROVIDE COLLEGE STUDENTS AND OTHER RESEARCHERS WITH AN AREA UNDISTURBED BY MAN TO CONDUCT SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENTS OF VARIOUS TYPES RELATING TO EARTH'S ENVIRONMENT, INCLUDING CLIMATE CHANGE, OCEANOGRAPHY PROJECTS, ETC. THE AREA IS NOW EQUIPPED WITH A SMALL LODGE WHICH ENABLES STUDENTS AND OTHER RESEARCHERS TO CONDUCT THEIR STUDIES ON-SITE FOR LONGER PERIODS OF TIME.
