WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS - CLCA PUBLISHED A MONTHLY E-NEWSLETTER FOR ITS MEMBERS. THE NEWSLETTER, WHICH HAS A CIRCULATION OF APPROXIMATELY 1,600, INFORMS MEMBERS ABOUT ASSOCIATION SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES, AS WELL AS LAWS AND REGULATIONS THAT AFFECT THEM.
WATER MANAGEMENT - THIS PROGRAM HELPS TODAY'S GREEN INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS MEET THE NEED TO REDUCE LANDSCAPE WATER USAGE USING ADVANCED IRRIGATION TECHNOLOGY AND A WATER BUDGET. USING WATER MANAGEMENT, ALONG WITH SMART ECOLOGICAL CHOICES, OUR LANDSCAPE PROFESSIONALS ARE HELPING PROTECT OUR ENVIRONMENT AND SHAPE CALIFORNIA'S FUTURE. OVER THE PAST FOUR YEARS, CLCA CERTIFIED WATER MANAGERS CONSERVED OVER 4.3 MILLION GALLONS OF WATER EACH YEAR.WELDCP- THIS PROGRAM IS SPONSORED BY METROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT AND ADMINISTERED BY CLCA TO CREATE A DUAL CERTIFICATION FOR LANDSCAPE PROFESSIONALS. BOTH CERTIFICATIONS ARE APPROVED BY THE EPA'S WATERSENSE PROGRAM.MWEL- THIS PROGRAM IS SPONSORED BY METROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT AND ADMINISTERED BY CLCA TO HELP LANDSCAPE PROFESSIONALS UNDERSTAND THE CALIFORNIA'S MODEL WATER EFFICIENT LANDSCAPE ORDINANCE. WITH GUIDANCE FROM THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES, CLCA OFFERS A FREE CERTIFICATE TRAINING TO UNDERSTAND LANDSCAPING BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES TO PREPARE AND COMPLY WITH THE ORDINANCE FOR LANDSCAPE CONTRACTORS, LANDSCAPE DESIGNERS, LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS, IRRIGATION CONSULTANTS AND CITY INSPECTION AGENCIES.
LOBBYING - CLCA REPRESENTS ITS MEMBERS BEFORE STATE GOVERNMENT REGULATORY AGENCIES. THE ASSOCIATION MONITORS PROPOSED STATE GOVERNMENT LEGISLATION, COMMUNICATES ITS POSITIONS ON THOSE BILLS, AND SPONSORS LEGISLATION IN THE STATE LEGISLATURE.
