Part 3 - Line 4a
IN 2021, PATRIOT VOICES CONTINUED TO ADVOCATE FOR WORKING FAMILY POLICY, WITH A SPECIAL EMPHASIS ON PAID FAMILY LEAVE. WE RAN A GRASSROOTS CAMPAIGN TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THIS ISSUE, CREATED EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL, AND RAN ADVOCACY CAMPAIGN FOR CONGRESS TO PASS A BIPARTISAN BILL TO SUPPORT FAMILIES AFTER THE BIRTH OR ADOPTION OF A BABY. WE CONTINUED OUR WORK TO SUPPORT PRO-LIFE POLICIES, INCLUDING HOSTING A PATRIOT VOICES TOWN HALL VIA ZOOM TO STAND FOR LIFE AND OPPOSE THE MEXICO CITY POLICY, ALLOWING FEDERAL FUNDS TO BE USED FOR ABORTION. WE ALSO OPPOSED PRESIDENT BIDEN'S PICK FOR DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, XAVIER BECERRA BECAUSE OF HIS UNUSUALLY RADICAL POSITIONS. WE CONTINUED TO ADVOCATE THAT THE U.S. GOVERNMENT PRIORITIZE RELIGIOUS FREEDOM IN FOREIGN POLICY. WE RAN CAMPAIGN TO SAVE THE AUTONOMOUS ADMINISTRATION IN NORTH AND EAST SYRIA BECAUSE OF THEIR REMARKABLE RELIGIOUS FREEDOM CONDITIONS. WE HOSTED A CAPITOL HILL DAY WITH MEMBERS OF CONGRESS TO EDUCATION GRASSROOTS ACTIVISTS. AFTER THE TALIBAN TOOK OVER AFGHANISTAN, WE ADVOCATED THAT THE U.S. GOVERNMENT EVACUATE THOSE FROM WHO WORKED WITH THE U.S. GOVERNMENT AS WELL AS RELIGIOUS MINORITIES AT HIGH RISK OF PERSECUTION. WE ENDED THE YEAR WITH OUR ANNUAL "MADE IN THE USA CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE," URGING OUR MEMBERS TO PURCHASE GIFTS MADE IN THE USA OR PURCHASED FROM A SMALL, LOCAL BUSINESS.
