EVA LONGORIA FOUNDATION SUPPORTS ACCION'S IMPLEMENTATION OF A 10-WEEK SPANISH-LANGUAGE TRAINING COURSE FOR APPROXIMATELY 15-20 LATINA WOMEN ANNUALLY IN THE GREATER SAN DIEGO AREA AND AN ANNUAL SPANISH-LANGUAGE WORKSHOP IN SAN DIEGO FOR APPROXIMATELY 25 LATINA ENTREPRENEURS.
SUPPORT FROM ELF FUNDS DIY GIRLS' AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM FOR A COHORT OF 30 UNDUPLICATED FEMALE 6TH GRADE STUDENTS AT GALS, WHO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM FROM 6TH TO 8TH GRADE. THEY OFFER A WEEKLY TWO-HOUR SESSION OVER 10 WEEKS EACH ACADEMIC SEMESTER, FOR A TOTAL OF 20 SESSIONS PER ACADEMIC YEAR IN STEM PROGRAMMING.
SUPPORT FOR THE CLUBHOUSE NETWORK HELPS TO BUILD PROGRAMS FOR THEIR BEST BUY TEEN TECH CENTER, A FREE, AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM THAT PREPARE MIDDLES AND HIGH SCHOOL-AGED YOUTH FROM UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES FOR THE CAREERS OF THE FUTURE. TEEN TECH CENTERS PROVIDE A CREATIVE, SUPPORTIVE AND COLLABORATIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT WHERE YOUTH DEVELOP TECHNICAL SKILLS IN AREAS SUCH AS 3D DESIGN; VIDEO PRODUCTION; MUSIC PRODUCTION; GRAPHIC DESIGN; PHOTOGRAPHY; CODING; PROGRAMMING; AND VIRTUAL AND AUGMENTED REALITY. TEENS ALSO GAIN ESSENTIAL WORKPLACE READINESS SKILLS.
