LIMB LOSSSEE SCHEDULE OTHE LIMB LOSS & PRESERVATION REGISTRY (LLPR) AIMS TO CLOSE MAJOR PUBLIC HEALTH KNOWLEDGE GAPS THAT WILL BE CRITICAL TO LIMB LOSS CARE, REFINING REHABILITATION APPROACHES AND GUIDING DEVELOPMENT OF PROSTHETICS FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH LIMB LOSS. THE LLPR WILL ENABLE RESEARCHERS STUDYING MEDICAL CONDITIONS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO LIMB LOSS, SUCH AS DIABETES TO ANALYZE THE REGISTRY OF DATA BY FACTORS INCLUDING AGE, GENDER, TYPE OF SURGERY AND PROSTHESIS TO BETTER SUPPORT LONG-TERM CARE OF THESE PATIENTS. THE AIM IS TO ENHANCE THEIR FUNCTIONALITY AND QUALITY OF LIFE LONG-TERM AND HELP ENABLE PATIENTS TO BETTER CARE FOR THEMSELVES, WORK AND BE MORE ACTIVE IN DAILY LIFE. THE LLPR ACHIEVED A MAJOR MILESTONE BY RECEIVING THE COVETED AUTHORITY TO OPERATE (ATO) APPROVAL FROM NIH IN 2022, MEANING THAT THE ARCHITECTURE AND DEVELOPED SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS FOR THE LLPR MEET THE FEDERAL RISK AND AUTHORIZATION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (FEDRAMP), NIST 800-53, AND HIPAA SECURITY REQUIREMENTS FOR A US GOVERNMENT SYSTEM. THE LLPR HAS BEEN RECEIVING DATA FEEDS SINCE MARCH 2022 AND HAS COLLECTED DATA FOR OVER 37,000 PATIENTS TO DATE.
ASSOCIATION OF PROGRAM DIRECTORS IN SURGERY (APDS)SEE SCHEDULE OTLI WORKED WITH THE ASSOCIATION OF PROGRAM DIRECTORS IN SURGERY (APDS) TO HELP IMPROVE SURGICAL TRAINING PROGRAMS TO ALLOW FOR DATA-DRIVEN INNOVATION IN SURGICAL EDUCATION. THE EDUCATIONAL QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (EQIP) PROGRAM NEEDED TO ENSURE THE CONFIDENTIAL CAPTURE OF ALL DATA FOR EACH OF THEIR GRADUATING RESIDENTS INTO A USER-FRIENDLY DATA INTERFACE DEVELOPED BY TLI TO EVALUATE THE RESIDENTS' EXPERIENCE AS MEDICAL STUDENTS. TLI COMPLETED DEVELOPMENT, TESTING, AND LAUNCHED THIS NEW PLATFORM IN A SECURE GOOGLE CLOUD ENVIRONMENT FOR APDS. THE FIRST YEAR OF THE DATA COLLECTION INCLUDED 36 SURGICAL TRAINING PROGRAMS WITH 1,264 TRAINEES, AND 1.500 FACULTY MEMBERS. TLI DEVELOPED 49 DATA VISUALIZATIONS FOR EACH PROGRAM WHICH SUGGEST THAT INCREASED TIME IN A TECHNICAL SKILLS LAB WAS ASSOCIATED WITH INCREASED SUCCESS FOR SURGICAL RESIDENTS ON THE ABS QUALIFYING EXAMINATION, AND THAT INCREASED TIME IN A TECHNICAL SKILLS LAB AND THE PRESENCE OF A FORMAL TEACHING CURRICULUM WERE ASSOCIATED WITH INCREASED SUCCESS ON BOTH THE ABS QUALIFYING AND CERTIFYING EXAMINATION.
MILLION VETERAN PROGRAM (MVP)SEE SCHEDULE OTLI IS PROUD TO HAVE COMPLETED OUR WORK FOR THE MILLION VETERAN PROGRAM (MVP). SINCE ITS LAUNCH IN 2011, MVP HAS ESTABLISHED ITSELF AS A NATIONAL RESEARCH PROGRAM TO STUDY HOW GENES, LIFESTYLE AND MILITARY EXPOSURES AFFECT HEALTH. IT REPRESENTS ONE OF THE LARGEST PROGRAMS ON GENETICS AND HEALTH IN THE WORLD, WITH OVER 840,000 PARTICIPANTS ENROLLED. WE PLACED OUR FOCUS ON THE KEY PROCESSES AND DEVELOPED PROGRAM-LEVEL PLANS TO IMPACT PROGRAMS. THIS IS A MASSIVE LONGITUDINAL STUDY WHICH WILL PROVIDE KEY DATA TO DRIVE INNOVATIONS IN MEDICINE FOR VETERANS.TLI WAS PLEASED TO COLLABORATE ON MVP BECAUSE IT IS ALSO WORKING TO CHANGE THE UNDERREPRESENTATION OF WOMEN IN BIOLOGICAL AND MEDICAL RESEARCH. WOMEN CURRENTLY ONLY MAKE UP ABOUT 9% OF MORE THAN 840,000 MVP ENROLLEES.
