DOULA SERVICES TO LOW-RESOURCE FAMILIES: PROVIDED DOULA SERVICES TO 119 FAMILIES. COMPARED TO 2022 DATA FOR BIRTHS IN ALABAMA, CLIENTS WERE LESS LIKELY TO HAVE A CESAREAN BIRTH (24.8% VS. 34.5%) AND LESS LIKELY TO HAVE A PRETERM BIRTH (5.8% VS. 12.84%. 94.1% OF CLIENTS BREASTFED THEIR BABY AT LEAST ONE TIME.
DOULA TRAINING: WE TRAINED 41 NEW DOULAS. TWENTY-EIGHT OF THE DOULASATTENDED TRAINING FOR FREE OR REDUCED COST AS PART OF NEEDS - BASED WORK STUDYARRANGEMENT. TRAININGS INCREASED NUMBER AND DIVERSITY OF DOULAS IN ALABAMA.
