ANNUAL MEETINGTHE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF RELIGION MEETING WAS HELD CONCURRENTLY WITH THE SOCIETY OF BIBLICAL LITERATURE MEETING IN DENVER, COLORADO NOVEMBER 2022. IT WAS ATTENDED BY 3,397 PROFESSORS AND GRADUATE STUDENTS OF RELIGIOUS STUDIES, BIBLICAL STUDIES, AND THEOLOGY IN PERSON THE MEETING SESSIONS CONSISTED OF MORE THAN 628 SCHOLARLY PAPER AND PANEL SESSIONS AND VARIOUS WORKSHOPS AS WELL AS 46 MEETINGS BY RELATED SCHOLARLY ORGANIZATIONS.

SCHOLARLY ENGAGEMENT:AAR ADMINISTERS A BROAD RANGE OF ACTIVITIES AND INITIATIVES THAT WE EXECUTE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH A ROBUST REPRESENTATION OF OUR MEMBERS. THIS INCLUDES THE WORK OF MORE THAN 15 COMMITTEES FOCUSED ON SERVING THE NEEDS OF AAR CONSTITUENTS, PUBLIC PROGRAMMING, AND THE ACADEMIC STUDY OF RELIGION. ADDITIONALLY, AAR PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR MEMBERS THAT INCLUDE WORKSHOPS RELATED TO EMPLOYMENT, TEACHING, LEADERSHIP, TECHNOLOGY, CAREER DEVELOPMENT, AND PUBLISHING. OUR SENIOR MEMBERS SERVE AS MENTORS TO OTHER MEMBERS WHO ARE IN VARIOUS STAGES OF THEIR EDUCATION AND CAREERS. OUR EMPLOYMENT SERVICES INCLUDE AN ONLINE JOB BOARD, AN EMPLOYMENT CENTER AT THE ANNUAL MEETING, AND ADDITIONAL RESOURCES REGARDING EMPLOYMENT TRENDS. THE DEPARTMENT SERVICES PROVIDED BY AAR OFFER MEMBERS WITH INFORMATION AND TRENDS IN THE FIELD. OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDE A MENTOR PROGRAM AND MULTIPLE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMS, AS WELL AS GRANTS AND AWARDS.
MEMBERSHIP SERVICES:AAR PROVIDES A VARIETY OF SERVICES TO ITS MEMBERS. THIS INCLUDES PUBLICATIONS SUCH AS A QUARTERLY SCHOLARLY JOURNAL, MONTHLY NEWSLETTER, ONLINE NEWSPAPER, BOOK REVIEW WEBSITE, AND A BOOK SERIES. NUMEROUS DISCOUNTS ARE PROVIDED TO MEMBERS FOR OTHER ACADEMIC JOURNALS AND BOOKS. IN ADDITION TO OUR ANNUAL MEETING, 10 REGIONAL MEETINGS ARE HELD EACH YEAR AROUND THE COUNTRY THAT PROVIDE WORKSHOPS AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES. THE MEMBER DIRECTORY ALLOWS MEMBERS TO STAY CONNECTED WITH THEIR COLLEAGUES YEAR-ROUND.
