THE MONEY IT COLLECTS THROUGH ITS FUNDRAISING EFFORTS HELPS THE DISTRICT MANAGE THE COUNTY'S PRAIRIES, WOODLANDS AND WETLANDS AND OFFER EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES COUNTYWIDE.

IN 2023 OVER 1,000 INDIVIDUALS, CORPORATIONS, AND FOUNDATIONS DONATED THROUGH FRIENDS OF THE FOREST PRESERVE DISTRICT TO ADVANCE THE FOREST PRESERVE DISTRICTS MISSION. THANKS TO THEIR GENEROSITY, THE FRIENDS WAS ABLE TO GRANT 253,251 TO THE DISTRICT FOR WILDLIFE REHABILITATION AT WILLOWBROOK WILDLIFE CENTER (60%); THE MAYSLAKE PEABODY ESTATE MASTER PLAN (25%); EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS (6%); HABITAT RESTORATION (4%); RECREATIONAL AMENITIES AND IMPROVEMENTS (3%); AND THE BLANDINGS TURTLE HEAD-START PROGRAM (2%).
