IN 2021, WE RECOVERED 550,000 POUNDS OF FRESH, LOCALLY GROWN PRODUCE AND HIGH-QUALITY PREPARED FOOD THAT WOULD OTHERWISE HAVE GONE TO WASTE, AND DELIVERED IT TO COMMUNITY KITCHENS, SHELTERS, FOOD PANTRIES, SENIOR CENTERS AND YOUTH PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT SANTA BARBARA COUNTY WHO ARE FEEDING PEOPLE LIVING WITH FOOD INSECURITY. THIS IS THE EQUIVALENT OF $962,500 WORTH OF FOOD, OR 458,343 MEALS. THE REDUCTION IN FOOD WASTE ALSO ACCOUNTS FOR AVOIDANCE OF 114.37 PARTS PER MILLION OF CO2, WHICH EQUATES TO THE ANNUAL EMISSIONS OF 25 CARS.
