COMPLETED INSTALLATION OF A 41.90 KILOWATT FOR THE SOLAR ENERGY PROJECT FOR THE 501C3 ORGANIZATION, THE CREATIVE DISCOVERY MUSUEM. THE CREATIVE DISCOVERY MUSEUM IS A HANDS-ON CHILDREN?S MUSEUM IN CHATTANOOGA, TN, THAT HELPS CHILDREN UNEARTH THE CURIOSITIES OF THE WORLD THROUGH PLAY, AND IMMERSIVE EXHIBITS. THE PROJECT INVOLVED MAXIMIZING THE SPACE ON THEIR ROOF, SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF THEIR TOWER EXHIBIT, AND HELPING DESIGN A NEW DISTANCE LEARNING MODULE: ?SOLAR VIEW IT AND DO IT? - GEARED AT HELPING MIDDLE-SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN TO BETTER UNDERSTAND RENEWABLE ENERGY.
COMPLETED INSTALLATION OF A 31.93 KILOWATT (KW) SOLAR ENERGY PROJECT FOR THE YMCA CAMP CORY IN THE FINGER LAKES REGION OF UPSTATE NEW YORK. THE SOLAR ARRAY ENHANCES THE CAMPGROUND'S ABILITY TO FINANCIALLY SUPPORT CHILDREN IN NEED SO THAT THEY MAY COME TO CAMP, WHILE ALSO MINIMIZING THEIR CARBON FOOTPRINT. THE PROJECT IS ESTIMATED TO SAVE THE YMCA CAMP CORY $3,950 PER YEAR IN ELECTRICITY COSTS AND AVERT 33,904 POUNDS OF C02 FROM ENTERING THE ATMOSPHERE EACH YEAR.
COMPLETED INSTALLATION OF A 20.5 KILOWATT (KW) SOLAR ENERGY PROJECT FOR THE 501C3 ORGANIZATION, BUCKHORN CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES IN BUCKHORN, KY. THE GROUND-MOUNTED SOLAR ARRAY IS PROJECTED TO PRODUCE 28,288-KILOWATT HOURS (KWH) ANNUALLY, SAVING BUCKHORN 29% ON THE BUILDING?S ELECTRICITY COSTS--AN AVERAGE OF $2,600 PER YEAR. THIS WAS EVERYBODY SOLAR?S FIRST PROJECT IN COAL COUNTRY. IT SERVED TO HELP GUIDE LOCAL POLICY CONVERSATIONS ABOUT DISTRIBUTED SOLAR, HELPED SAFEGUARD NET METERING POLICIES, AND PROVIDED JOB TRAINING TO EX-COAL WORKERS.
