ENGAGE CITY DWELLERS EXPERIENTIALLY IN THEIR LOCAL FOOD SYSTEM TO INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD THEY WILL EAT FRESH, NUTRIENT DENSE, LOCALLY PRODUCED FOODS. GROUP WORK DAYS: CORPORATE AND SCHOOL GROUPS EXPERIENCE WORK DAYS FOR TEAM-BUILDING AND LEARN ABOUT THE REVITALIZING EFFECTS OF URBAN AGRICULTURE AND THE IMPORTANCE OF GROWING NEW URBAN FARMS AND FARM ENTREPRENEURS. WINE + WEEDS: A WEEKLY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY FROM APRIL-OCTOBER WHERE MEMBERS BUILD COMMUNITY AND LEARN THE SPECIFICS OF URBAN FARMING INCLUDING PLANT IDENTIFICATION, WEEDING TECHNIQUES, MULCHING AND MORE. SPECIAL EVENTS: THE FARM IS HOST TO MULTIPLE EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, SUCH AS DINNERS, CONCERTS, AND FESTIVALS, ALL OF WHICH EXPOSE OUR NEIGHBORING COMMUNITY TO THE POSITIVE OUTCOMES OF A SUSTAINABLE FOOD SYSTEM AND THEREBY CULTIVATE HIGH COMMUNITY RECOGNITION AND ENGAGEMENT WITH OUR MISSION AND VALUES.
