THROUGH TRACTOR'S 2021 PROGRAMMING, OVER 107 TONS OF PRODUCE WAS DISTRIBUTED THROUGH RELIEF AND HEALTH AGENCIES AND $335K OF NEW INCOME WAS PROVIDED TO AREA FARMERS. HEALTHY HARVEST PROGRAM: THE HEALTHY HARVEST PROGRAM SOURCES, PROCURES, GRADES AND DISTRIBUTES COMMUNITY-GROWN FOOD TO AREA HEALTH AGENCIES AND FOOD PANTRIES. BASED ON 2021 SURVEYS OF PARTNERS ACROSS WNC, WE ESTIMATE THAT 15,000 FOOD INSECURE INDIVIDUALS ENJOYED GREATER ACCESS TO FRESH, NUTRITIOUS, LOCALLY-GROWN FOOD. OVER 60 TONS OF FOOD WAS PURCHASED AND DISTRIBUTED, SUPPORTING AND
CLINICAL REFERRAL PROGRAM: IN 2021, THE CLINICAL REFERRAL PROGRAM SERVED 460 WNC FAMILIES A LOCAL FOOD SHARE ONCE PER WEEK OVER THE COURSE OF 18 WEEKS. REFERRALS WERE MADE BY HEALTH CLINICS, PHYSICIANS AND FOOD RELIEF AGENCIES ORGANIZATIONS BASED ON THE DIETARY NEEDS OF THEIR CLIENTS. THROUGH TRACTOR AND COLLABORATIVE PROGRAMMING, 9,957 FRUIT AND VEGETABLE SHARES WERE DISTRIBUTED TO FAMILIES ACROSS WNC.
COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICUTURE (CSA) PROGRAM: THE TRACTOR CSA IS A MARKET OUTLET FOR LOCAL GROWERS TO SHOWCASE THEIR PREMIUM PRODUCT TO LOCAL CONSUMERS AT A FAIR PRICE. THE CSA SERVED 157 MEMBERS OVER THE COURSE OF 40 WEEKS OVER 95% OF PRODUCT WAS PURCHASED LOCALLY, RE-CIRCULATING DOLLARS INTO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. 3,324 TOTAL SHARES WERE SOLD, AND $7,145 WAS PURCHASED USING SNAP/EBT BENEFITS.
