RESEARCH AND OUTREACH - THE INSTITUTE CONTINUES TO FOSTER SCHOLARSHIP ON AND WITHIN AFGHANISTAN BY BOTH AMERICAN AND INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARS. THE INSTITUTE ADMINISTERS ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES FROM THE US WHILE OPERATING ITS OVERSEAS RESEARCH CENTER IN KABUL, AFGHANISTAN. THE KABUL CENTER SERVES AS A RESOURCE FOR VISITING INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARS AND FACILITATES RESEARCH, WORKSHOPS, SEMINARS AND INITIATIVES THAT PROMOTE ADVANCED SCHOLARSHIP AND THE PRESERVATION OF CULTURE IN AFGHANISTAN. ACTIVITIES WERE INTERUPTED IN 2021 DUE TO THE US WITHDRAWAL.
