SINCE 1997, LAKE OF THE OZARKS HABITAT FOR HUMANITY HAS HELPED LOW-INCOME FAMILIES AND THOSE LIVING IN SUB-STANDARD HOUSING ACHIEVE THEIR DREAM OF HOME OWNERSHIP. UPON COMPLETION OF THEIR HOME AND THE SWEAT EQUITY HOURS PROVIDED BY THE SELECTED FAMILY, THE FAMILY ENTERS INTO A NON-INTEREST BEARING MORTGAGE WITH US FOR A SPECIFIED NUMBER OF YEARS. SINCE 1997, 17 HOMES HAVE BEEN BUILT BY OUR LOCAL AFFILIATE.
LAKE OF THE OZARKS HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INDEPENDENTLY OWNS AND OPERATES A RESTORE IN CAMDENTON, MISSOURI. THE RESTORE ACCEPTS DONATIONS AND SELLS NEW AND GENTLY USED FURNITURE, APPLIANCES, HOME GOODS AND BUILDING MATERIALS TO THE PUBLIC AT A FRACTION OF THE RETAIL PRICE. PROCEEDS ARE USED TO HELP BUILD STRENGTH, STABILITY, SELF-RELIANCE AND SHELTER IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.
LAKE OF THE OZARKS HABITAT FOR HUMANITY TITHES 10% OF ALL MONEY RAISED FOR LOCAL HOUSES TO HABITAT INTERNATIONAL IN ORDER TO ASSIST IN ITS EFFORTS TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE HOUSING FOR ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED FAMILIES AROUND THE WORLD. LAKE OF THE OZARKS HABITAT FOR HUMANITY'S TITHE IS DESIGNATED FOR THE GLOBAL MISSION FUND.
