THE MISSION OF RURAL EMPLOYMENT ALTERNATIVES, INC. IS TO PROVIDE MEANINGFUL COMMUNITY ACCESS OPPORTUNITIES, CLASSES AND DAILY LIVING SKILLS PROGRAMMING TO INDIVIDUALS WHO EXPERIENCE MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DISABILITIES AND REQUIRE SUPERVISION AND ASSISTANCE.

DAY HABILITATION PROGRAMMING PROVIDED BY RURAL EMPLOYMENT ALTERNATIVES, INC. (REA, INC.) INCLUDES TRAINING IN THE AREAS OF SOCIAL SKILLS, COMMUNICATION, BASIC ACADEMICS, DAILY LIVING SKILLS, PROMOTION OF HEALTH AND WELLNESS, LEISURE OR RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES, ART APPRECIATION AND VOLUNTEERISM. FOR THE YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2021, THE AGENCY PROVIDED 4137 DAYS OF DAY HABILITATION SERVICES TO 51 ADULTS. REA, INC. CLOSED AT LEAST SIX WEEKS DURING THIS TIME DUE TO COVID-19. REA, INC. OPERATED UNDER A THREE-DAY PROGRAMMING WEEK FROM JULY 20, 2020 THROUGH FEBRUARY 8, 2021 AS THE AGENCY INCREASED CENSUS AND VACCINATIONS BECAME AVAILABLE. REA'S DAY HABILITATION PROGRAM FOCUSED ON COMMUNITY INTEGRATION. COMMUNITY INTEGRATION IS DESIGNED TO ASSIST INDIVIDUALS IN OPTIMIZING THEIR PERSONAL AND SOCIAL COMPETENCY TO LIVE AND INTERACT SUCCESSFULLY IN THE COMMUNITY.
