THE MISSION OF RURAL EMPLOYMENT ALTERNATIVES, INC. IS TO PROVIDE MEANINGFUL COMMUNITY ACCESS OPPORTUNITIES, CLASSES AND DAILY LIVING SKILLS PROGRAMMING TO INDIVIDUALS WHO EXPERIENCE MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DISABILITIES AND REQUIRE SUPERVISION AND ASSISTANCE.

DAY HABILITATION PROGRAMMING PROVIDED BY RURAL EMPLOYMENT ALTERNATIVES, INC. (REA, INC.) INCLUDES TRAINING IN THE AREAS OF SOCIAL SKILLS, COMMUNICATION, BASIC ACADEMICS, DAILY LIVING SKILLS, PROMOTION OF HEALTH AND WELLNESS, LEISURE OR RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES, ART APPRECIATION AND VOLUNTEERISM. FOR THE YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2024, THE AGENCY PROVIDED 6621 DAYS OF DAY HABILITATION SERVICES TO 48 ADULTS. ABSENTEEISM RATES CONTINUED TO AVERAGE 10%. REA'S DAY HABILITATION PROGRAM FOCUSED ON COMMUNITY INTEGRATION. COMMUNITY INTEGRATION ASSISTS INDIVIDUALS IN OPTIMIZING THEIR PERSONAL AND SOCIAL COMPETENCY TO LIVE AND INTERACT SUCCESSFULLY IN THE COMMUNITY. OUT OF 6621 DAYS OF DAY HABILITATION SERVICES, 4703 DAYS, OR 71% OF THE PROGRAMMING WAS COMMUNITY-BASED. EIGHTY-EIGHT PERCENT OF THE DAY HABILITATION PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS SPENT 51% OR MORE (A MAJORITY) OF THEIR DAYS IN COMMUNITY-BASED DAY HABILITATION PROGRAMMING.
