POINT OF SALE PROJECT (POS) WORKS TO REDUCE THE HARM DONE BY TOBACCO USE IN THE METRO AREA. THROUGH EDUCATION, MEDIA, AND POLICY ADVOCACY, WE ARE WORKING TO REDUCE YOUTH ACCESS TO TOBACCO PRODUCTS AND TOBACCO INDUSTRY INFLUENCES. POS FOCUSES ON ENFORCING AND STRENGTHENING LOCAL TOBACCO ORDINANCES IN THE POINT-OF-SALE ENVIRONMENT. SPECIFIC FOCUS IS TO EDUCATE AND ADVOCATE ABOUT RESTRICTING THE SALE OF FLAVORED TOBACCO PRODUCTS AND KEEPING TOBACCO PRICES HIGH.
THE MINNESOTA PREVENTION RESOURCE CENTER (MPRC) PROJECT WORKS TO REDUCE THE IMPACT OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, AND OTHER DRUG ABUSE BY CONNECTING PREVENTION PROFESSIONALS AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO QUALITY INFORMATION AND TRAINING THEY NEED TO EFFECTIVELY PREVENT USE.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING: ANSR STAFF PROVIDES TRAINING AND GUIDANCE ABOUT TOBACCO CONTROL AND PUBLIC POLICY TO GRANTEES OF THE MN DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD OF MINNESOTA AND CLEARWAY MINNESOTA. TRANING IS THROUGH ONE ON ONE GROUP AND ELECTRONIC MEETINGS
