FACILITATED COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING - A RICH ARRAY OF GROUPS BRING DIVERSE PROGRAMMING TO THE CENTER EVERY DAY. EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES ARE PROVIDED BY THE MADISON SCHOOL DISTRICT (ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT) AND 4-C'S PLAY AND LEARN (KINDERGARTEN READINESS). THE DISTRICT OFFERS ENRICHMENT CLASSES FOR ADULTS, SENIORS, AND YOUNG CHILDREN, AS WELL AS EXERCISE CLASSES FOR ADULTS, SENIORS, AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. BETWEEN 5-10 SERVICE CLUBS AND NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATIONS REGULARLY UTILIZE THE CENTER'S MEETING SPACES. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT INCLUDING ACADEMIC SUPPORT, HEALTH AND FITNESS, ARTS AND CREATIVE EXPRESSION, AND COMMUNITY SERVICE/LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT THAT ARE OTHERWISE AVAILABLE TO THEM. IN 2021, TEEN BUILD-UP PROVIDED 845 HOURS OF PROGRAMMING TO 142 HIGH SCHOOL AGE YOUTH. THE JEFFERSON YOUTH RESOURCE CENTER PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH TO PARTICIPATE IN SAFE, SUPERVISED ACADEMIC, RECREATIONAL, SELF-DEVELOPMENT, AND LEADERSHIP ACTIVITIES TO ENHANCE SCHOOL CONNECTION AND IMPROVE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT.
