SUPPORTING, ASSISTING, AND PROMOTING WILLOW RIVER AND KINNICKINNIC STATE PARKS BY PROVIDING NATURALIST EDUCATOR SERVICES, PRESENTERS, AND EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS. IN 2022, WITH A VOLUNTEER BOARD OF TEN, AND WITH ONE FULL-TIME NATURALIST EMPLOYED, THE FRIENDS:OFFERED 148 PROGRAMS TO 5,500 PARTICIPANTS OF ALL AGES AND BACKGROUNDS THROUGH SCHOOL FIELD TRIP PROGRAMS, NATURALIST CLASSES, WEEKEND EVENTS, AND DROP-IN PROGRAMS FOCUSED ON GEOLOGY, HUMAN HISTORY, THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT, RECREATION, AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL AND SEASONAL TOPICS.RAISED OVER $31,000 TO PURCHASE A NEW UTV FOR THE USE OF VOLUNTEERS WHO GROOM MILES OF SKI TRAILS MAINTAINING THE REPUTATION OF THE PARK AS A PREMIER CROSS COUNTRY SKIING AND SKI-TRAINING DESTINATION.
