AMAZING SPACE: INDIAN CREEK NATURE CENTER PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENTIAL PROGRAMS TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, INCLUDING SCHOOLS, RETIREMENT COMMUNITIES, AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS. IT PROTECTS AND MAINTAINS 230 ACRES OF LAND AS PART OF ITS AMAZING SPACE CAMPUS AND 50 ACRES OF LAND IN OTHER PARTS OF CEDAR RAPIDS.
ETZEL SUGAR GROVE FARM - THE PURPOSE OF ETZEL SUGAR GROVE FARM IS TO ESTABLISH SUSTAINABLE, ECONMICALLY VIABLE REGENERATIVE, ORGANIC FARMING PRACTICES AND CREATE CHAMPIONS OF NATURE THROUGH EDUCATION AND REPLICATION OF THESE PRACTICES. ETZEL SUGAR GROVE FARM IS A 190 ACRE FARMSTEAD LOCATED JUST OUTSIDE MARION, IA. THE FARM WAS DONATED TO ICNC IN 2016.
CREEKSIDE FOREST SCHOOL: CREEKSIDE FOREST SCHOOL WAS A NEW INITIATIVE IN 2021 AND IS A FIVE-DAY PER WEEK, HALF-DAY, STATE LICENSED PRESCHOOL PROGRAM. STUDENTS AGED 3 AND 4 LEARN IN AN IMMERSIVE, OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENT UP TO 90% OF THEIR TIME IN SCHOOL.
