WE PROVIDE SUPPORTIVE PROGRAMS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS IN MARINETTE COUNTY, WISCONSIN. THIS WOULD INCLUDE CONGREGATE AND HOME DELIVERED MEALS, TRANSPORTATION, LEGAL/BENEFIT COUNSELING, ALZHEIMER'S AND FAMILY CAREGIVER SUPPORT, HEALTH PROMOTION, DISEASE PREVENTION, INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE AND NUTRITION EDUCATION.

NUTRITION PROGRAM PROVIDES HOT, NUTRITIOUS MEALS (CONGREGATE AND HOME DELIVERED) FOR PERSONS AGE 60 AND OVER. PROMOTES PHYSICAL HEALTH, NUTRITION COUNSELING AND EDUCATION, AND ADDITIONAL HEALTH SUPPORT OF AGING. IN 2021, 50,233 MEALS WERE SERVED TO OUR CONGREGATE AND HOME DELIVERED CLIENTS. DUE TO COVID, 95% OF MEALS SERVED WERE PROVIDED AS HOME DELIVERED MEALS AS OUR CONGREGATE MEAL PROGRAMS WERE CLOSED UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2021.
TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM: PROVIDES TRANSPORTATION VIA BUS, VAN, AND PRIVATE AUTO FOR MEDICAL, SOCIAL, NUTRITIONAL, EMPLOYMENT, PERSONAL BUSINESS. MANY ELDERLY CLIENTS ARE FRAIL AND REQUIRE PRIVATE AUTO ESCORT AND/OR WHEELCHAIR-LIFT ASSISTANCE IN ACCESSING AGENCY VANS AND BUSES. IN 2021, THE AGENCY PROVIDED 4378 PASSENGER TRIPS OF WHICH 898 WERE FOR MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS (287 FOR FRAIL ELDERLY REQUIRING PRIVATE AUTO TRANSPORT). REMAINING RIDES WERE FOR NUTRITION, EMPLOYMENT, EDUCATION, AND SOCIAL/RECREATION.
LEGAL AND BENEFIT COUNSELING: PROVIDES SUPPORT TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES AFFECTED BY ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE AND RELATED DEMENTIA, INCLUDING GRANTS TO AFFECTED INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES. PROGRAMS INCLUDE ALZHEIMERS FAMILY CAREGIVER SUPPORT, OUTREACH, INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE, RESPITE CARE AND NECESSARY SUPPLIES AND SERVICES. IN 2021, 27 CLIENTS RECEIVED FULL OR PARTIAL GRANTS TOTALING $33,155 VIA ALZHEIMER'S/FAMILY CAREGIVER SUPPORT PROGRAMS. ABOUT 550 INDIVIDUALS WERE ASSISTED WITH HOMESTEAD TAX, MEDICARE, MEDICAID, SSI, SENIORCARE, PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION, AND CONSUMER ISSUES.
GRANTS TO COUNTY SENIOR CENTERS FOR RECREATION, EDUCATION, AND SOCIALIZATION RELATED TO NEEDS OF SENIOR CITIZENS. HEALTH PROMOTION AND DISEASE PREVENTION SEMINARS FOR SENIORS. DONATIONS FROM INDIVIDUALS, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, LOCAL BUSINESSES APPLIED TO AGENCY PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES.
