THE ORGANIZATION IS CONTINUING RESTORATION WORK ON AN HISTORIC BUILDING KNOWN AS THE GOODWIN HOUSE, WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF CARRIZO PLAIN NATIONAL MONUMENT, AND OWNED BY THE NATURE CONSERVANCY. IT IS THE INTENTION OF BOTH PARTIES TO RESTORE THE BUILDING SO IT CAN BE USED FOR SMALL EDUCATIONAL GATHERINGS OR OVERNIGHT USAGE BY INVITEES, AND FOR OTHER EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES. A PORTION OF THE FUNDS RECEIVED IN 2021 WERE FOR WORK THAT WAS COMPLETED IN 2020.

THE ORGANIZATION SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE FORMAL TRANSFER OF FIVE PARCELS OF LAND TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA'S DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE IN 2021. A SIMILAR TRANSFER OF TWENTY PARCELS OF LAND WITHIN CARRIZO PLAIN NATIONAL MONUMENT TO THE UNITED STATES BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT FOR INCORPORATION INTO THE MONUMENT HAS NOT YET BEEN COMPLETED.

THE ORGANIZATION PLANNED A RESTORATION PROJECT USING VOLUNTEERS FOR FALL 2020, BUT IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE TO UNDERTAKE THE PROJECT AT THAT TIME DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS. THE PROJECT WAS REMOVAL OF OLD AND NON-FUNCTIONAL BARBED WIRE FENCING, WHOSE REMOVAL IS BENEFICIAL TO WILDLIFE, PARTICULARLY PRONGHORN ANTELOPE. THE PROJECT WAS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED IN FALL 2021. THE GRANT COVERING THIS PROJECT WAS RECEIVED IN 2020, AND THE FUNDS HELD OVER UNTIL THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED.
