THE YMCA OF SAGINAW IS AN ASSOCIATION OF ALL PEOPLE UNITED IN A COMMON EFFORT TO PUT JUDEO-CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES INTO PRACTICE THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT ENRICH THE SPIRIT MIND AND BODY FOR ALL.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: OUR YMCA IS COMMITTED TO NURTURING THE POTENTIAL OF EVERY CHILD AND TEEN. WE BELIEVE THAT ALL KIDS DESERVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DISCOVER WHO THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY CAN ACHIEVE. THAT'S WHY WE HELP YOUNG PEOPLE CULTIVATE THE VALUES, SKILLS, AND RELATIONSHIPS THAT LEAD TO POSITIVE BEHAVIORS, BETTER HEALTH, AND EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT. CONTINUING TO FACE RESULTS FROM THE COVID19 PANDEMIC, THE YMCA OF SAGINAW CONTINUED INNOVATIVE TO ENSURE PROGRAMS CONTINUE, SUCH AS SAFETY AROUND WATER AND MISSION NUTRITION ADDRESSING HUNGER. IN 2021, WE PROVIDED $28,405 IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO PEOPLE WHO OTHERWISE WOULD HAVE FACED ECONOMIC BARRIERS TO PARTICIPATION.
HEALTHY LIVING: THE Y IS A LEADING VOICE ON HEALTH AND WELL-BEING. WE BRING FAMILIES CLOSER TOGETHER, ENCOURAGE GOOD HEALTH, AND FOSTER CONNECTIONS THROUGH FITNESS, SPORTS, FUN AND SHARED INTERESTS. AS A RESULT, NEARLY 5,000 PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY ARE RECEIVING THE SUPPORT, GUIDANCE, AND RESOURCES THEY NEED TO ACHIEVE GREATER HEALTH IN SPIRIT, MIND, AND BODY. IN 2021, WE PROVIDED $40,347 IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO PEOPLE WHO OTHERWISE WOULD HAVE FACED ECONOMIC BARRIERS TO PARTICIPATION.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: OUR YMCA BELIEVES IN GIVING BACK AND SUPPORTING OUR NEIGHBORS. WE HAVE BEEN LISTENING AND RESPONDING TO OUR COMMUNITY'S MOST CRITICAL SOCIAL NEEDS FOR OVER 150 YEARS. Y PROGRAMS AND PARTNERSHIPS, SUCH AS THE MILITARY OUTREACH INITIATIVE, THE KIDSCAMPUS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF THE GREAT LAKE BAY REGION, THE SENIOR CONNECT AND MISSION NUTRITION, ARE EXAMPLES OF HOW WE DELIVER TRAINING, RESOURCES, AND SUPPORT THAT EMPOWER OUR NEIGHBORS OF ALL AGES TO EFFECT CHANGE, BRIDGE GAPS, AND OVERCOME OBSTACLES. EVEN DURING OUR CLOSURE IN 2020, YMCA 560 MEMBERS DONATED THEIR FEES TO ENSURE OUR CONTINUED SUPPORT TO OUR COMMUNITY DURING THE PANDEMIC.
