IN 2021, 366 FASHION STUDENTS REGISTERED IN THE ARTS OF FASHION FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL FASHION STUDENT COMPETITION, FROM 116 SCHOOLS, UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES FROM 29 COUNTRIES. 0N MAY 21, 2021, A JURY PANEL, COMPOSED OF 8 INTERNATIONAL FASHION FACULTY DESIGNERS, MET IN GETARIA, SPAIN AT THE CRISTOBAL BALENCIAGA MUSEUM. THEY SELECTED 50 FASHION PROJECTS OUT OF 366 PRESENTED. THE 50 THAT BEST REPRESENTED THE 2021 SET THEME "MOMENTUMX AND HAVE CREATIVE AND INNOVATIVE POTENTIAL.THE FOUNDATION CONTINUES ITS PARTNERSHIP WITH PARIS MUSEE DES ARTS DECORATIFS FOR A ONE MONTH IN JULY, 4 WEEK INTENSIVE FASHION SUMMER PROGRAM, BUT DUE TO COVID-19, MANY STUDENTS WERE NOT ABLE TO TRAVEL.IN SEPTEMBER 2021, THE 50 STUDENT PROJECTS (100 DESIGNS) WERE RECEIVED IN ANTWERPEN, BELGIUM. THE 50 SELECTED CANDIDATE PROJECTS WERE PRESENTED THIS YEAR VIA A FILM VIDEO.NINE DESIGNERS WERE AWARDED DURING THE FINAL JURY SESSION HOSTED AT THE FASHION MUSEUM OF ANTWERP - THE MOMU, UNDER THE JURY PRESIDENCY OF ICONIC FASHION DESIGNER WALTER VAN BEIREINDONCK, WITH JEAN-PAUL KNOTT, JAN-JAN VAN ESSCHE, AND ZOE VERMEIRE. THEY RECEIVED SCHOLARSHIP AND APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITIES IN CREATIVE PROGRAMS AND FASHION HOUSES. THE ARTS OF FASHION FOUNDATION WAS GRANTED A SUBSTANTIAL FINANCIAL HELP BY THE CITY OF ANTWERP. THE SYMPOSIUM 2021, WHICH SHOULD HAVE TAKEN PLACE AT THE ASIAN ART MUSEUM IN SAN FRANCISCO TO BRING TOGETHER FASHION PROFESSIONALS, FASHION ACADEMIC AND FASHION STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN LECTURES, CONFERENCES AND PORTFOLIO REVIEW, WAS CANCELLED DUE TO THE COVID-19 SITUATION AND TRAVEL LIMITATIONS.
