SAINT JOSEPHS ARTS FOUNDATION ("SJAF") SUPPORTS THE CREATION AND PRESENTATION OF CONTEMPORARY ART THROUGH LOCAL AND NATIONAL ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCY PROGRAMS, INNOVATIVE PARTNERSHIPS WITH ARTISTS AND ARTS ORGANIZATIONS, AND THE PRESENTATION OF EXHIBITIONS, PERFORMANCES, AND PUBLIC EVENTS THAT SHOWCASE ART OF ALL MEDIA AND DISCIPLINES. AT A TIME WHEN UNAFFORDABLE GALLERY AND STUDIO SPACE, AS WELL AS HOUSING, PLAGUES ARTISTS IN THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES, SJAF PROVIDES AN ART EXHIBITION SPACES IN BOTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA AND PROVINCETOWN, MA, ALONG WITH OTHER SUPPORT TO ARTISTS. DUE TO THE IMPACTS OF COVID-19 AND THE VARIOUS LOCKDOWNS IMPOSED THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES, SJAF WAS NOT ABLE TO HOLD LIVE, PUBLICLY ATTENDED EVENTS AT THE FACILITY LOCATED AT 1401 HOWARD STREET, SAN FRANCISCO UNTIL THE SUMMER OF 2021. LIVE, BUT LIMITED PROGRAMMING, COMMENCED IN THE PROVINCETOWN LOCATION IN MAY 2021. SJAF CONTINUED TO PROVIDE ROBUST VIRTUAL PROGRAMMING WHICH INCLUDED LOCAL ARTISTS (DANCERS, MUSICIANS, VISUAL ARTISTS) HAVING THEIR ART PROGRAMMING. THESE VIRTUAL EVENTS WERE IN MANY CASES LIVE STREAMED TO A GROWING LIST OF MEMBERS, DONORS, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THESE EVENTS HAVE ALSO BEEN ARCHIVED AND WILL BE HOUSED ON THE SJAFS WEBSITE WHICH WILL BE LAUNCHED IN 2022.
